The Senior Sales Manager (Papua New Guinea) is responsible for owning and developing end to end sales activities, business development, relationship management, sales proposals/forecasting, market and competitor analysis to represent and position Kacific as a provider of satellite-based internet connectivity services to wholesale and managed service buyers in the assigned sales territory, including Telecoms, ISP’s, Government and other agencies, bodies or organisation. This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales and Business Development
Own and manage the development and execution of end to end sales process
Develop and implement sales strategies to target wholesale buyers, resellers in the assigned sales territory including Telecoms, ISP’s, Government and other agencies, bodies, sales channels or organisation
Identify and bring new opportunities (business development) to the table
Seek sales opportunities within existing customers to grow or upsell new products or services
Manage sales funnel and revenue forecasts for the market
Ensure understanding of key cultural, political and regional issues that can impact sales process in the assigned sales territories
Manage proposal/tender process collaborating with Kacific team members in preparing and submitting tender proposals
Articulate and mobilise internal and external stakeholders where necessary to support sales and solution proposals
Use Kacific’s resources to ensure that all commercial solutions are optimised
Update the customer relationship management tool with day to day activities, prospects, contacts and other relevant data
Relationship management
Maintain contact and relationships with existing customers on a regular basis
Develop, nurture and maintain relationships with prospective customers
Maintain contact and relationships with government bodies, agencies and regulators
Develop relationships with suppliers/vendors/consultants that may be involved/engaged by the customer as part of solution/implementation
Conducting business reviews to ensure customers are satisfied with their products and services
Market & Competitor Analysis
Maintain awareness of competitor activities and understand how these translate into threats or opportunities
Understand market needs and how Kacific solutions align to market needs
Be across all regulatory requirements, licenses and required to deliver services to targeted clients/industries
Share market and competitor analysis with product and marketing teams
REQUIREMENTS
Excellent knowledge of the Satellite / Telecommunications / Broadband industry
Extensive full cycle sales experience (minimum of 8+ years) selling to Telecoms, ISP’s, Government and other agencies, bodies or organisation including leading and managing complex tender process/proposal in the respective territories in Papua New Guinea
Comprehensive understanding, expertise and solid track-record developing and closing large sales (in excess of USD1M to USD100M)
Willingness and able to commit to significant travel within the assigned territories
Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
Strong influencing and negotiating skills
Excellent relationship management skills and the ability to create new relationships and opportunities with potential clients
Degree qualified preferably in Business or Engineering discipline
