Activations, Presentations and Party Time at PITA 2019

Apr 01 2019

Kacific is proud to be the platinum sponsor of the 23rd PITA AGM and Conference, taking place from 8 – 12 April at the Shangri-La in Nadi, Fiji. This is the largest meet up of the Pacific’s most influential telecom operators and industry members before the Kacific1 satellite service begins. The Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA) is a non-profit organisation formed to represent the interests of small island nations in the Pacific Region in the field of telecommunications.

At this PITA 2019, Kacific has planned a number of activations, presentations and networking events for the industry. We look forward to seeing you there!

Satellite Ground Technology in Action

Our Deputy CTO ( ground infrastructure) and tech extraordinaire, Adrian Potter, is setting up a ground technology demonstration on the Green Lawn. With this demo, attendees can take a look at a couple of the satellite broadband solution set ups using small but powerful VSAT dishes and WiFi technology. The display will show how you can power the ground technology with battery or solar power. Learn how to supply affordable bandwidth to remote and suburban communities. Adrian will connect the ground technology to our high-speed satellite network – which will provide even faster speeds by the end of 2019.

This activation will be situated on the Green Lawn opposite the Main Plenary Hall Centre.

Fast and Flexible Presentation

John Hawker, our Senior Vice President Sales for Melanesia and the Pacific, will be sharing with attendees how satellite provided a speedy broadband connection when Tonga’s sole fibre connection was severed in January. He will also give pricing examples for particular services powered Kacific1, such as Mobile Backhaul for expanding mobile network reach and capacity, and Community WiFi Hotspots to reach a range of customers with easy, bite-sized internet packages for local people and tourists.

To see John’s presentation, head to Hall C for the marketing breakout workshops on Day Two, Tuesday 9th April at 9.20am.

One-on-one Meetings

We are looking forward to meeting with industry players and our innovative customers. Attending from the Kacific team are: John Hawker, Matteo Catanuto, Adrian Potter, Brandon Seir & Michael Alex. To schedule a one-on-one to discuss how satellite can boost your network and reach new markets, please email us on sales@kacific.com.
